Only 7 countries have ever won the World Cup since its inception in 1930. These countries are:
Italy (34;38;81);
Brazil (58;62;70;94;02);
Germany (54;74;90);
Uraguay (30;50);
Argentina (78;86);
England (66); and
France (98).
Uraguay has not qualified for WC 2006. The World Cup is in Europe where a South American team has only won a World Cup once and that was Brazil winning in Sweden in 1962. Note that European teams have never been able to win the World Cup when it is held outside of Europe.
Based on this logic the winner will be a European team who has won the WC before. That leaves us with Germany, England, Italy and France. I beleive that 2006 is England's second coming...see Wayne Rooney. Diego Maradona agrees with me!
